How it works

Step one: you ask, in whatever words you have — no topic to pick, because it already knows what you were working on.
Step two: covalent atoms share electrons, ionic ones hand them over — then it turns the question back on you: so which one is MgO?
Step three: the question is logged as a gap in bonding types and added to tonight's queue.

1. Multiply the ends: 4 × 3 = 12. Now find two numbers that multiply to 12 and add to the middle, 8.
2. 6 and 2.
3. Split the middle term: 4x² + 6x + 2x + 3.
4. Group in pairs: 2x(2x + 3) + 1(2x + 3) → (2x + 1)(2x + 3).

Four steps. Yours has a negative on the end, so step 1 gives you a negative product — that’s the only thing that changes.
